Announcing the next Walter Rescue Sponsored Dog

As many of you know, our annual Valentine's fundraiser is coming up on Feb. 11 at Mahaffey's Pub. We're thrilled to announce that we will be helping the Caroline County Humane Society with a special dog named Diesel.

Diesel, a 5- to 6-year-old Doberman, was found as a stray and was bleeding from the mouth. He was rushed to the local veterinarian to have a growth removed from his mouth.

However, this poor dog had a lot of bleeding, and he will need more emergency blood transfusions, which are not cheap. While the vet believes the growth is benign, he will need transfusions and plasma during his neuter surgery. Diesel's tail and ears were docked, which indicates that someone dumped him.

Once Diesel is healthy, he'll hopefully be eligible to go to a loving family. He has so far not reacted negatively to other dogs or cats or people, so we're hopeful he'll pass his temperament training with flying colors. In the meantime, Walter Rescue is raising money to help the CCHS invest in this worthwhile dog.
