Walter's Weekend

Good news on all fronts! Walter spent Saturday with the Hoslers and their dog Leslie while we went to a wedding in D.C. Walter behaved very well, although he did show his appreciation for soft and comfortable chairs. Poor Leslie thought he was staying and I think was relieved when we picked him up.

Yesterday we allowed Walter more freedom outside the bedroom, including hanging out in the same room as cats Simon and Eli. While there was the occasional chase and cat swipe across Walter’s nose, there was also a lot of ignoring each other. While we don’t allow Walter to be unsupervised around the cats, we accidentally left Walter in the bedroom with Eli under the bed for several hours, and everyone emerged unscathed - thank goodness! My parents also got to spend some time with Walter, and even my mother, who declared “I am NOT a dog person” developed some affection for him. While we are glad he’s doing okay with the cats, you can see from the picture that they are large cats - I still wouldn’t trust him around a small animal.

Walter is getting neutered on Thursday and a family is coming to look at him on Saturday. We are hopeful it’s going to be a great week for him!
