Walter's Likes and Dislikes

Likes: People, warm bed, stuffed animals, licking, fire hydrants, short walks

Walter seems to do fine with children, and has a lot of patience with them, which is good news. While we would advocate for him to be in a no-baby household, we are confident he’d been fine in a family with older children. He loves short walks and marking his territory, but he never acts like he needs a long walk to burn off energy. This is a first for us - our Guide Dog in training, Tom, was a non-stop bundle of excitement.

Dislikes: Water, peanut butter, hooded sweatshirts, bones, nightmares

Walter does not like water. We were close to a river over the weekend and he braced himself so he wouldn’t have to get too close. He won’t willingly come into the bathroom, and while he was a good sport about the bath, he was very scared. Anyone know if this is a breed thing or just this dog?
Meanwhile, he does not have interest in chewing on a bone or toy. The good news is that he isn’t chewing on furniture or shoes.
