Adopt a Shelter Dog, Or Walter

Walter is at the vet today getting an ultrasound to see how his kidneys are doing. It made me smile when I saw him trot back and saw the vet techs yell “Walter!” It was like he was Norm on Cheers. We remain hopeful that whatever medical problems he has are treatable.

Meanwhile, Walter’s dislike of water continues. He refused to get out of the car during a torrential downpour, so I carried him into the vet.

Finally, the Shelter Pet Project has an awesome Web site, and make sure you check out their campaign section to see the great PSAs developed by the Ad Council. What I love about the campaign is that it makes a great point about animals like Walter - lots of times they end up at shelters or with foster families like us through no fault of their own.
